Freedom & the Machine by Ranulph Glanville

Had missed hearing of Ranulph’s death, seems like the passing of an era or at least a possibility or two.

“This is a lecture that explores the need for pattern making. I explore pattern making as an essential human activity, and consider how it throws light on our notion of the machine. I compare the notions of freedom and the mechanical and argue that mechanism is not necessarily anti human freedom.”
