Land-ian Populism? Bannon on the new serfdom, cryptocurrencies, and digital sovereignty

@evgenymorozov seeks to distinguish this from his own take on neo-feudalism:
“Bannon named “digital sovereignty” as one of the three big forces shaping his brand of populism in the FT event. Yet, his is the sovereignty of the bourgeois subject, now equipped with his/her data, not popular sovereignty granting some space for maneuver under global capitalism.
What’s notable is that his populist-fascist vision of individual, private data ownership is not that different from the one preached in Davos and by many mainstream neoliberals in FT/The Economist. It shows us that, on property rights, fascists and neoliberals converge as always.”
